]]> Mon, 28 Apr 2008 18:19:28 -0600 Heat Pump Course - This is the first time ever being offered in the area Description: Written for those individuals who already have a basic background in refrigeration and air conditioning, this newly revised two-volume course covers heat pump fundamentals, components, applications, installation and service.  Heat gain and heat loss calculations based on ACCA's Manual J are included, as are troubleshooting guides for both the electrical and refrigeration systems.  All types of heat pump systems - both packaged systems and split systems - are studied, including air-to-air heat pumps, water-source heat pumps, and various kinds of special-purpose heat pumps such as high-efficiency and multi-capacity units.  The use of supplemental and auxiliary heat is discussed.  The course also features a simplified performance guide/checklist for servicing heat pumps in both the heating and cooling cycles. Full course outline for Volume 1 & Volume 2 are available online.
